Kate Watson

Dr. Kate Watson is the President and founder of The Advocacy Academy, where she provides training and professional development for victim advocates, child advocates, and other helping professionals who respond to power-based violence. She is the author of Motivational Interviewing for Victim Advocates and the host of the podcast Only Trying to Help, which explores the well-intentioned but sometimes unhelpful ways people try to support others. She recently launched SpeakAndFind.com, a hub for people to learn the skills to start (and grow) their own training businesses. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Towson University, a master’s degree in psychological counseling from Columbia University, and a doctorate in Health Policy and Social Justice from Drexel University.
